I made a flying visit to this year’s Technology for Marketing & Advertising exhibition in Earls Court, London. Pretty much all of the seminars were packed and there was a slight air of confidence in the industry. In the current climate it seems companies are more enthusiastic than ever for making e-marketing a priority with greater focus on web analytics and acquiring effective content management solutions.

This month I visited the Broadcast Video Expo at Earls Court, London. The big firms such as Adobe, Avid and Sony were all in the usual places but amongst them were a few interesting companies including 3D cinema. Adobe and Apple were demonstrating features from their video & sound suites plus Adobe showed off some capabilities from Gridiron’s file & project management software, Flow. Last year’s Live Forum was this year named a Conference and accompanied by a £20 entry fee.

There has been further work added to my Portfolio in the past month including my very first 3D production called 3D Blood Cells. I’m beginning to warm to 3D despite its immense complexity and time consuming requirements. In my next project I remain undecided as to whether I should develop a 3D model or stick to something a little bit simpler.
